First few listens I''m not impressed.

I''ll admit I''m not a long-time fan of TCM, but a handful of their songs (across all albums) I really like a lot. I think I was hoping to be blown away with something that has been a long-time in the making. While I think it''s technically sound and the "long-time" fans are appearing to love it, I''m not really impressed. I can tell one or two songs off the album will likely go into my regular listening rotation. After more listening I may grow to love more of the album. But, for me, picking this up at full-price the day it came out was not a good idea.

I love tracks 3 and 5. The whole album is really good. My friend gave me one of their albums when they were moving and I have been a fan ever since.

I was kind of paranoid that the album would either be the greatest album to date. Or the worst album yet. I think it sits somewhere in between. Its not the classic TCM that I''ve grown to love. Every track has the same styled tone and sound to it and the drums almost seem digital. Unlike the rest, where every song has its own unique tone and sound. I was able to get over that pretty quick but their''s a little bit of dubstep mixed in there that totally ruins the album for me. But then again, This could be the bridge that crosses the gap between bigbeat and dubstep genres.

The Crystal Method takes no prisoners on its 2014 self titled release, cranking out some vicious and heavy electronica tunes with some incredible, ranged melodies. Though there are some tracks that take a breath and feature really well done female vocals, lowering the intensity, most of this album rocks hard, only using electronic synths instead of metal guitars. Very creative and exciting, this is the Crystal Method I love to hear. Heavy, fast and filled with hard edged electronica. The opening Track Emulator will give you a great idea of the other sounds in this album. Awesome.

Love the music but the vinyl production isn''t great
Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2020
I loved the CD of album so I purchased the vinyl. There are parts of the recording that are perfectly clear on the CD but on the vinyl they are distorted.....a little disappointed. By contrast their "Vegas" vinyl is fab....I like it better than the CD.

I''ve been a big Crystal Method fan since day one, and they have never failed to impress me! Until now, this set just never really seems to find it''s groove. I don''t know if it is the Daft Punk effect where they feel the need to abandon what has put them on top and start to work with "collaborators", they started doing this on their last CD and it worked well, but on this CD everything just falls flat. Sorry guys, it''s not there.

That''s not to say that it doesn''t have its moments, but it seems like the guys decided to go down alleys they didn''t quite belong. Unfortunately it shows. This cd didn''t pack the typical punch for me; and whatever punch it did have pierced my eardrums. Hopefully they''ll get it right on the next disc.
